Statement of Condolence on the Martyrdom of Grand Ayatullah Syed Ali Khamenei
“Among the believers are men who were true to their covenant with Allah; some of them have fulfilled their vow by martyrdom and some are still awaiting and they have not changed in the least.” (Qur’an 33:23)
The 10th of Ramadaan 1447 AH, coinciding with the demise of Sayyidah Khadijah (sa), will be remembered as one of the darkest and most painful days in our contemporary history. On this tragic day the enemies of truth committed a grave crime by taking the life of Grand Ayatullah Syed Ali Khamenei, a towering figure who stood at the forefront of resistance, justice and the defense of the oppressed.
Having carried the immense responsibility of leading the Islamic Revolution for 37 years after the demise of Imam Khomeini in 1989, Ayatullah Khamenei remained steadfast, fearless and unwavering in his mission. Through decades of pressure, hostility and challenges he never compromised on his principles.
A life spent in service to Islam and the oppressed has now concluded in martyrdom, an end befitting his lifelong struggle and sacrifice.
The pain of losing such leadership is immeasurable. His absence leaves a void that cannot be filled and the sorrow of this tragedy weighs heavily upon the believers across the world.
Al-Mustafa International University in South Africa express our deepest condolences to Imam Zamana (ajtf), to the great nation of the Islamic Republic of Iran, to its leadership, to all the Ulama (Maraj-e-Kiram), to the Axis of Resistance and to the oppressed people across the globe. My Allah grant him the highest ranks among the martyrs and bless him with the intercession (shafa‘ah) of Sayyidah Khadijah (sa).
The martyrdom of even the greatest of leaders will not silence the call for justice nor extinguish the spirit of resistance against oppression. Rather such sacrifice strengthens the resolve of the faithful and waters the seeds of the Revolution for the generations to come.
َسَيَعْلَمُ ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوٓا۟ أَىَّ مُنقَلَبٍۢ يَنقَلِبُونَ
